Guest guest
I too found out about my T2D because I went in for a yeast infection that would not go away. The funny thing is this: I take a large mg of acidophilis on a regular basis to help keep me going regularly. However, I had run out and kept forgetting to buy it for about a month. Then as the demonic itching took place and OTC didn't work, I went online and found a couple home remedy cures. I DEFINITELY DON " T RECOMMEND THE HOME REMEDY that said to coat the vagina/vulva/labia with yogurt with live culture. That made it itch worse and shriveled my labia like a dried prune! I then read in one of the T2D books I was reading that acidophilis " ate " the yeast infection. DUH! Made sense - used it, no yeast infection, hadn't used it, YEAST INFECTION! So I purchased some and within two days, the itching was manageable. Within a week, an itch here or there, but definitely bearable. By the way, during the night I scratched myself pretty bad down there and it's taking FOREVER to heal. One reason is my urine is still pretty nasty with sugar. Also, when it's almost healed, I forget when I wipe and OUCH! I've used zinc bacitracin for healing and zinc oxide for protection from the urine (thinking diaper rash). I'd like to hear from others about your experiences and how you handled this miserable situation. Debby
Guest guest
Ouch Debby! I Thank God have not experienced this problem. Right now. I think they wanted you to use the yogurt because it has acidophilis in it. Any way, if and when I have this problem before diabetes I would call my doctor and she would just prescribe me diflucan pill and it would go away. If the itch was too bad, I found that cold wet cloths sooth it.
