Guest guest
My youngest boy had his check up with the ped today.. but the ped took one look at me and asked what was up..so I told her and she asked if I was at least taking a multi or? I explained to her that I could not because of the nickel and also because of the B12.. She told me B vitamins were over rated unless you had a deficency in them, Vitamins in order of importance.. Vit D, Vit A, Vit C and iron.. So she wants me on these and see if it helps.. I really wish she would take adults lol..I asked her if I at least acted like a kid could I see her too.. Guest guest
Cod Liver Oil is a great source of Vitamins A and D so I take it all winter. My doctor has me on B vitamins to lower my homocysteine although I'm not sure if it's working since I haven't had it tested again since. She told me B vitamins were over rated unless you had a deficency in them, Vitamins in order of importance.. Vit D, Vit A, Vit C and iron.. __________________________________________________

And where's the calcium in her list? ____________________________ in *chilly/cold(it can't make up it's mind!!!* Jerseyopen proximal rny 9/18/015'9"-32yo297/180/165I'm not a doc-in real life or otherwise.proud military spouse
Guest guest
I believe it. Doctor's know so little about vitamins in my opinion and I don't take their advice unless they say something is actually harmful. I show them my list and most just nod, or tell me I don't need a certain thing. I go to D.O.s now and they seem to be more in tune with the whole nutrition thing. My D.O. doctor put me on 'Cardio B' for high homocysteine and 'Tri-Salts' to add alkaline to my body. The Tri-Salts are Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. He also looked at my list and approved of everything that I was taking. I'll take my list to my new doc next week and let all y'all know what she says... Judy Overrated??? Guest guest
Hi Kats, Thought I would add my 10cents worth on this and this is from Dr. Weil today: B vitamins help support adrenal function, help calm and maintain a healthy nervous system, and are necessary for key metabolic processes. Vitamin B6 (also called pyridoxine) helps ensure that biological processes like fat and protein metabolism run smoothly, and is also frequently recommended for nerve injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome. Though all the B vitamins are water soluble and thus eliminated through urine when the body has excesses, vitamin B6 can cause nerve toxicity at high levels. You should discontinue use of supplemental B6 if any unusual numbness develops in the body. Food sources of B6 include avocados, bananas, brown rice, eggs, oats, peanuts, soybeans, walnuts, and whole wheat. Dr. Weil recommends a daily B-complex supplement that contains a full spectrum of B vitamins, including thiamine, B12, riboflavin and niacin. Visit Dr. Weil's Vitamin Advisor for more information on B6 and other vitamins and supplements. Stressed out? Try B If the long-term effects of day-to-day stress concern you, B vitamins may be just what you need. B vitamins help support adrenal function and assist in calming and maintaining a healthy nervous system. They also help protect against a host of health issues. Dr. Weil's Antioxidant and Multivitamin Formula contains all the essential B vitamins to help support energy metabolism and to keep the effects of stress at bay. Learn more - get your free personal recommendation from Dr. Weil's Vitamin Advisor. There are some things he is saying are good that I don't agree with for us with thyroid issues but he is for the nutritional aspect of most how to heal our bodies. I take a B comlex plus a B6 daily as well as other vits. Guest guest
I guess I should of posted that I am allergic to B12( synthetic) and she did go through diet etc first so I can not do B unless I take them seperately and taking them seperately is not reccomended unless you have a tested low.. A good multi is the first thing reccomended, I can not take them..no nickel and no B12.. I will have to look at the sources for A and D though as any fish is also a no go..( nickel) .. But the doc did say she sees a lot more people deficent in D and A then in B's..( mind you she deals with kids) although she also liken soy and I can not do soy either( nickel) .. Guest guest
Hello, I can understand alot of the problems going on here. I was having a big problem all kind of things. I ordered a book call Eat for Your Blood Type and I have had great results with this. So if there are synthetic Vitamins you are unable to take, you can get them from foods that are good for your system. I know there are so many things that sound crazy to alot of people but when you go though the things that we go though with Thyroid issues we know you are not crazy. Good Luck Karolkats3boys wrote: I guess I should of posted that I am allergic to B12( synthetic) and she did go through diet etc first so I can not do B unless I take them seperately and taking them seperately is not reccomended unless you have a tested low..A good multi is the first thing reccomended, I can not take them..no nickel and no B12..I will have to look at the sources for A and D though as any fish is also a no go..( nickel) ..But the doc did say she sees a lot more people deficent in D and A then in B's..( mind you she deals with kids) although she also liken soy and I can not do soy either( nickel) ..Kats3boys __________________________________________________
