Guest guest
Debbie, Was your cancer hormone receptive? I would think that the patch could cause problems but I am not a doctor. I would call your doctor and ask him. I will keep you in my prayers. Guest guest
In response to the amount of time breast or any cancer, for that matter, goes undetected...it can take 5-8 years for the billions for cells to form a mass the size of a grain of rice. This isn't new information. I've worried about that a hundred times...and then, Chemo isn't meant to kill every cancer cell, the hope is the immune system can deal with the excess " floaters " that is if you keep your immune system running optimally. Drastic health measures must be taken or you might be just putting off something that will inevitably return. I think about mine every day. I think I will beat it by staying very healthy but I have had the flu for over a month. That's really scary for those of us who have already undergone all the surgeries and treatments and are just waiting until that five year mark. I've been overworked and stressed but still it creeps in that my immune system is crap. I didn't mean for this to be a venting email but it is now. Sorry ladies and gents...tomorrow I am actually going to see a family practitioner so maybe that will sort me out. Guest guest
hello kristina, i sincerley hope your doctor can help you and having the flu does not help, i had a kidney removed yr 2005 due to a cancer tumour and this yr a bc tumour , yeah i try not to worry and do the best i can, we are all different here and may choose to do our treatments in different ways, this group is for support and for us to vent, and yeah i have had real bad times also, plus my overall health is not good, and stress we have seems to make things worse. I have also found that different countries do things a tad different so i use this group as a base for more knowledge, and i must say here i have learnt a lot of new info, even is some i cannot follow up on. i hope all goes well for you, sandy in oz a Kleczko 1littlehead@...> wrote: In response to the amount of time breast or any cancer, for that matter, goes undetected...it can take 5-8 years for the billions for cells to form a mass the size of a grain of rice. Guest guest
> > My tumor was 2.5cm and I was told it was probably there for approx 10 yrs. This is the kind of information that needs to be gotten out to our young women. You have it well before you know it. I never thought that I was at risk so I didn't do my self-exams the way I should have. But on the other hand, when I had physicals, the doctors didn't do them either or ask me if I had done them. It's really sad that high schools will take the time to tell girls about reproduction, but not how to take other measures to keep themselves healthy.
