Rokos from UCLA discussed the E2B (EMS to Balloon) Challenge which

will be a sister project to the ACC's D2B (Door to Balloon) initiative

that launched in November of 2006. I have been asked to co-author the

training module and take the lead as far as grass roots organizing for

the project. With the blessings of Dr. Rokos, I have started a new

listserv on Yahoo! for the " E2B Challenge. "

> We are hoping to generate interest from a multidisciplinary group

that includes EMS professionals, emergency department and cath lab

personnel, cardiologists, emergency physicians, risk managers, and

QA/QI managers.

the EKG Club. The E2B list will have a specific focus (i.e., process

improvement for STEMI care and the utilization of the prehospital 12

lead ECG to select the appropriate receiving hospital or otherwise

reduce the " medical contact to balloon " time).
