Guest guest
Hi Judy, Happy New Year! So — adding T3 vs the straight T4 helped your anxiety? The t3 revs me up....... Sue I've been away and missed some of the earlier thread. My anxiety issues are much improved with the T4/Armour combo. I took straight T4 over the holidays since it was easier and I can feel it coming back... JudyP
Guest guest
Hey Sue, Happy New Year to you too! About the anxiety, I'm glad you replied. I thought exactly that until this morning. I've been on straight T4 over the holidays since I had to cross the border and took my old prescription in hopes of getting a refill. Since I'm having labs next week, I started back on the combo this morning and yes, I'm feeling revved up too! I may need a more gradual increase again. I'm so confused, I'm not sure what to do. I know that I had lots of energy and felt pretty good for the past 2 weeks on the Eltroxin only. This morning, I can't stop yawning LOL. Having said that, although it makes me feel a bit more edgy, the overthinking type of anxiety seems to have lessened. That could certainly be coincidence and nixing the sugars too. I'm going to talk to the doc again in 2 weeks and I may try straight Levoxyl for one term if she promises to give me the Armour back if I ask. One thing I do know is that I haven't had nearly as many hot flashes/night sweats on the straight T4 and my eye had stopped twitching. We'll see if that comes back this week... Guest guest
That’s interesting --- and I understand it cuz energy is not necessarily anxiety at all and I get more anxious when I feel draggy then when I feel energetic so it really does make sense. I got more hot flushy type stuff on the Cytomel/Levo vs the Armour/Levo. Right now I am on the .56 of Levo and 90 mg of Armour and feel just fine but not great and not bad – just ho-hum. I was very reved up with the Cytomel and I think I do prefer that but had to try the armour at least and it’s sooo much more expensive to use T3---for me it’s about 50 dollars every month if I go to the cytomel and that’s a lot – I take other scripts as well for allergeries, blood pressure and such...this is with insurance and it’s no cheaper without. I see my doctor for a yearly check in March and am gonna play around a bit — I am just not thrilled with my armour/levo combo and the armour alone was leaving me short on T4 so back to the drawing board I guess!
