Guest guest
Hi ine and Mike in Minnesota - My afib is like Mike's - non-stop, etc.- so the verapamil provides just rate control, no NSR, and helps with blood pressure. The afib is always there (although I don't feel it very much) and therefore getting more and more worrisome. I'm trying to find an interventional cardiologist somewhere in the Worcester-Boston area in Massachusetts and have two leads. I like my local non-invasive cardiologist very much. Guest guest
Charlotte - I took Verapamil in the very beginning of my afib saga, but it made my very tired. My mom has been on it for forever though.. she's been in permanent afib since the late 60s and I believe Verapamil is all she takes for her heart specifically. She takes something for bp, but I can't remember what. Verapimil keeps her heart in the 50 and 60s. My internist says med students should listen to my heart because it has no rhythm at all! But 360 mg of verapamil daily (along with warfarin and dyazide) keep my heart rate around 72 and my blood pressure under control. I'm lucky that I feel very few effects of afib, but I don't know how long that will last. Charlotte
