Guest guest
My afib has been bugging me for 3+ years. A spell of amioderone controlled it (have taken thyroid, liver tests and chest x-rays), but now it seems to have lost its effect. Big doses of beta blockers keep the rate low, and sometimes too low. I'm scheduled for ablation soon in a big-time center for the procedure. Would love to hear from anybody with similar experiences. in NJ

I recently had a PVI ablation at the University of PA and couldn't be happier with my decision. Sharon
Guest guest
Micahel, two antiarrhytmic meds have failed to prevent AF breakthrougs and now a third is too. My EP has suggested either a PVIA of a Mini-Maze procedure. I'm in the process of trying to find the right procedure for me and the right physician to do it. Please tell me how did you chose your procedure and physician. Any tips on how to research this would be appreciated. Tell me the what, who and where of your planned procedure. Thanks, shosti10 mjpratt@...> wrote: My afib has been bugging me for 3+ years. Guest guest
, I also was bugged with afib for 3.5 years. I finally went for an ablation with Dr. Natale at the Cleveland Clinic in Feb.2005. Successful since, no afib. It used to be that Dr. Natale was the go-to guy, and he still is, in my opinion. But I am very happy to see that other EPs are getting up to speed, and in the UK as well. So, who are you going to? Best of luck, > > My afib has been bugging me for 3+ years. Guest guest
, I know or know of many people who have had their ablations done at the U of P.and were very happy with the results. I have a friend who had a disastrous ablation done elsewhere, and Dr. Callans was able to perform a successful ablation for him. My own EP did his EP fellowship under Dr. Marchlinski and Dr. Callans, and he thinks they are among the very best. How long did you have to wait to get an ablation appointment with Dr. Callans? -- In AFIBsupport , " shosti10 " wrote: > I'm having it done at UPenn, with Dr. Callans, in July (sooner if I can get the date). > Amioderone is the only med I've taken-- worked well for a while.
