Ummm, I just installed it (last month) to talk to my son who is doing

a semester in Germany and Austria, and it's free. We talk to him

every week over the computer (we don't have a video setup - maybe

that's not free??) and it's free. If you want to call a real phone,

rather than another computer user with Skype, it's about 2 cents a

minute - still a great deal.

Maybe that was it, Meg - when I got the email that it wasn't going to be

free anymore I just uninstalled it because I " m just using Google Talk now.

When I went to the European deafblind conference I set up our pc amd my

laptop with Skype but I found that if you use MSN messenger you can use a

web cam as well. I set this up so that I could say hi to .

Unfortunately the hotel did not have room internet access. I will ensure

that whether it is skype, msn, google or whatever I will have something set

up for when I come to the conference in OC. It will mean alot to communicate

with while I am away.
