Guest guest
Hey All!!! I won't be around much today as I'll be kinda moving into my new place. The lease says you can move out in thirty days if you don't like it...and of course that just makes me keep thinking I should keep looking for another apartment!! After I bought the car...I wanted to take it back if you remember...and continue car shopping. I never did...it took a couple weeks for me to find something else to focus on. I'm just bringing a few items and a blow-up bed....so if I decide I don't like the place after staying there a week or so...I'm not commited with furniture...which I am gonna have to purchase. I hadn't actually seen the apartment until after I signed the lease and after opening the place, I was a bit shocked to see how really super small it is. For the money I'm paying, I'd expect a few more feet. The lady said it was 650- SQ feet. IT looks smaller than that to me. Do you have any ideas what I should take with me? I have really ugly shower curtain from ocean's state job lot for 5 bucks which I'll have to take a 32 inch vizio TV and I really need a computer...and I don't know what to do...buy a laptop and leave this one here or just take this one (regular desktop)? I kinda know I'll want unplug the service here...its like 30 dollars a month for the highspeed here...so It can't STAY hooked up too long...but I was hoping for some overlap time. Ya know...in case I leave this new apartment for another that I can't move into right away? I waited a whole month to move into this place..and I don't know if I made a good choice. ~E:) TOTAL-Thyroidectomy 26 months post-op. Any questions? Get answers on any topic at Yahoo! Answers. Guest guest
Well when I moved, the items that I made sure I had to hand as soon as I got here were the teapot, the tea, and a few mugs! Take your photos of your favourite people, phone numbers of friends who can chat you out of the gloom when you have been there a few hours and start thinking you've made a mistake. A good book for the first few sleepless nights, some music to keep you company, perfume to pamper yourself, a bottle of wine to toast a new chapter, and the phone numbers of the nearest take-out restaurant to take care of the food. Oh yes, a screw driver might be handy. Happy moving! --- E Gillespie lyongillespie@...> wrote: > Hey All!!! > > I won't be around much today as I'll be kinda > moving into my new place. > > The lease says you can move out in thirty days if > you don't like it...and of course that just makes me > keep thinking I should keep looking for another > apartment!! > > After I bought the car...I wanted to take it back > if you remember...and continue car shopping. Guest guest
I'll add two items to that.... a notebook and writing utensil (well that's two that I'm counting as one) and a dish or basket that you can designate as your 'place to put stuff that I can't lose' like keys, and the note pad.... Moving to a new place, for me, can often mean losing track of where I'm putting things down and then the great hunt the next morning for the car keys!! heheheheh Oh.... a clock/alarm clock.... new place needs a clock to help you keep track of time in the new surroundings. Guest guest
If you can, get one of those 'smart clocks' that reset the time/date for you in a power outage or when they are unplugged. They're around $15 at Mal-Wart and if you can spare the money to buy one, they're worth their weight in gold LOL. Thanks for the 'add-ons' guys!! Guest guest
Thanks sue! I didn't hook up a phone. I think I'll get a new contract on my cell phone...I'm considering moving to Verizon..and getting some a decent minute's package instead. I got to get a laptop...but so far I haven't done the research on which kind is best/cheapest...with WIFI...if that is what they come with....? ~E:)JustYourTypeDTP wrote: I also include:MedsA book to read or paper to doodle/write onTelephone and list of important numbersComputerClock w/alarm if you need to wake up for any reason :)RadioI also moved a lot.... So far I've been looking at the one on my new coffee pot and the oven...BUT an alarm clock for the bedroom would be helpful and one for the bathroom... Guest guest
My laptop is a HP and works great. It was very cheap as far as laptops go (around $700 with warranty from best buy) and has a wireless card built in so that I can surf the web at any free wireless or wifi spot. I like HPs because they're little work horses and run pretty well with little snag (from my experience). Here is a good website for buying. http://www.mikhailtech.com/articles/editorials/laptoppower/ I really recommend that if you can afford it to get a warranty. It was really worth it to me as because my first laptop was under warranty, I was able to get this second one as a replacement to it for free, because it would have cost the company more to refurbish it than to replace it. good luck!! andrea Re: moving in day-ot Thanks sue! Guest guest
Mine is a Compaq which is now owned by HP. I've had it 3 years with no problems at all and I'll definitely by Compaq or HP again. I worked in the computer business for decades and they have always had a good record. And yes, even though I never used it, the extended warranty is always good insurance... Judy My laptop is a HP and works great. Access over 1 million songs - Yahoo! Music Unlimited.
