Oxytocin, for example, is clearly involved in the maternal bond found in humans. This " peptide of affiliation " also is known to regulate anxiety, so it may play a role in social phobias. And there is evidence in certain pathologies, like autism, that oxytocin is deficient. " There is alot of research going on re: oxytocin and AGGRESSION and social behavior in both males and females. Oxytocin is currently administered to some as a treatment for autism. A google of " Social behavior and Oxytocin " yields much. It might be worth asking about or looking into? in Ma.
