Question about the conference hotel

Ok, dumb question as I have never made a hotel reservation, my friends

always do it! lol Do I need a credit card to make a reservation? If so, that

will be a problem! lol Student + Credit card? BAD idea!!!!

I think u can book with a debit card. My debit card is a visa card though so

im not sure..

You have to have a credit card (or debit card) number to make a reservation

online. You may be able to call the hotel directly and make the reservation by

phone without one. I know if you check into a hotel without a credit card, the

managment usually makes you put down a cash deposit (generally more than one

night's stay, in case damage occurs to the room). When you check out, they

refund the extra money if the room is ok.

If you have never had a credit card, I would encourage you to look into

getting one. It's true that you can get into trouble if you spend beyond your

means. But putting usual purchases (like groceries) on the card and paying the

balance off every month helps you establish good credit history, which you

absolutely will need later in life. Plus, credit cards come in handy for

situations like reserving hotel rooms!
