Guest guest
As a mother of a 21 month old I'm concerned that we may be in need of further services. My son at this point has no specific diagnosis, just low tone with speech delay. We are going to Illinois Masonic next month for a professional group evaluation and hopefully more direction. We have speech and group play once a week with a developmental session twice a month. I am concerned that his speech has not really progress although we have a wonderful SLP. Since he's not an obvious diagnosis I feel like we are in the " wait and see " categeory. Should I push for something more at this point? I go daily from panic and dread to patiently waiting for that surge of verbal skills. Is he ASD or mild CP? Is he apraxic or just slow to go? I'm wanting advice on how to be in prediagnosis limbo and get the most out of it without going crazy. Believe me that I'm not hung up on getting a diagnosis, I just want to have some realistic goals and clearer understanding of the big picture.
