I have a question for those that live in Texas. One of my assistants that

worked with me is now working with a student who is deaf and blind. She is going

at the end of this month to a conference in Austin. She said that there is a

session on Charge Syndrome. I told her that if she met any moms and they are on

the message board to tell them that JD's mommy says hello. Is any one going?

Also is there a website to the information? If I had known I could have gone

and gotten my CE credits for my masters.

Anyways, to everyone else.JD is coming home today. We are happy and he is

getting his feeds over 45min. Thursday he is getting them over 30min and then

next monday 15min.

Thanks for all of your prayers and warm wishes.

This is the texas deaf blind symposium in austin feb 16and 17th. I

am not going this year but have been to the conference 2 times. the

last time i met dr. davenport and dr. hartshorne who specialize in

charge.it was informative. i don't know the speakers etc this year

but contact cathy springer at 512-255 3176 or

dacspringer@... , she will be able to tell you more. she

has mailed out a cd and letter and is setting up a charge group for

texas. and was setting up a dinner for charger during the conference.

The website is www.tsbvi.edu/. On the home page, you will see " 2007

Deafblind Symposium " which will take you to conference registration and also a

list of the presenters and their topics. It should be an excellent syposium

with opportunities to visit with quite a number of CHARGE families. The

symposium is every other year; it's well attended , well planned and I always

leave with more information than I can absorb in such a short period of time.

Hope you can come to one in the future.

You could spend days and days on the TSBVI site looking for information on

visual impairments as well as deafblindness and its implications. For teachers

of D/B students, VI students and multi-impaired students, the resources are

tremendous. You will find " best practices " in educational programs, continuous

additions to contents on the site, and more information than you can imagine

ever needing...but you will at some time or another. As a VI teacher, it's one

of the best resources I have for myself as well as my students and their

families.

Hope you can find something useful on the website.

Garland and I are going. I am having to take friend to watch him, but it is all

worth it. I went 2 years ago and this year I am looking forward to this one.

The CHARGE session should be great it is being done by Brown. He is

awesome! It is more about children with CHARGE in a learning environment.

I apologize for not mentioning it to you. With everything going on with JDK, I

did think about it.

Glad to hear the good news. Take care.
