Guest guest
For those of you who have had kids with decannulated trachs. . . Carmen's stoma is covered with a water proof bandaid every day--and the trach has been out for a month now. I change the band-aid once or twice a day and it still has some secretions coming from it (nothing of concern). I'm just wondering how long it takes for the stoma to close on it's own. It has probably closed about 75% of the way, but there is still a hole there and air does flow to and from it (I can see the band- aid moving sometimes). I'm just wondering what your experiences have been for stoma closure. Thanks in advance! , mom to Zachary 5 years and Carmen 2 years (CHARGE)
