Maxie,

Somebody asked me this today, and I didn't know the answer. Question:

Does DFR still require a firefighter hire who is already a paramedic to attend

the UTHSC Dallas's paramedic course?

Gene,

If they come to DFD from a system outside UT biotel medical control, they

will be required to take an accessment exam. If they perform well on the exam

they will be allowed to take the transfer course however if they perform

poorly they will have to attend the paramedic course. Most medics perform very

well on the exam if they have the NR certification.
