Guest guest
Hi everyone, I had a really bad day today dealing with my internist who consistently refuses to fill out the FMLA paperwork I need for work. Her reason was that she didnt have any way to substantiate my problems.. I should ask my GI doctor to fill this paperwork out. Hello.. how the heck is he gonna substantiate.. he hasnt seen me in over 6 months, and he only knows what is going on now due to the phone call she made to his office last week.. Besides, she is my primary care doctor( or was shall I say).. and should be the one filling out this paperwork. I guess I am going to be forced to quit my job until my health stabilizes unless my surgeon is willing to fill out the papers for me.. I left copies with his nurse today after she drew my blood to be tested for hepatitis a,b,c, and HIV.. . I will know the results of those tests on Friday .. maybe Thursday afternoon. I am sicker than sick today.. dont know if I have an upper respiratory infection , on top of the right upper qudrant pain , fatigue, fever, etc.. or if I am having a severe allergy attack.. I do know one thing.. I feel totally bad. Anyway, I am going to report my internist to the Georgia State Composite Board of Medical Examiners, my insurance company, and the Better Business Bereau. Also, I have a lawyer looking into my rights as an employee and her obligations to me as her patient regarding the FMLA act. I will see her in court if I need to over this. I am going to call and make me an appt to get established with a new primary care doctor tomorrow.. I know I should have already done this, but it is so hard to start over anew with a new doctor again.. I am not thinking clearly as I am in a lot of pain today.. and have taken some pain meds.. so I am off to bed again.. I hope to feel better when I awake again. Take care.. and thanks for letting me vent .. I just needed to tell someone how I truly feel about this whole situation. Guest guest
Dear Deb, She flat refuses to fill out the fmla forms.. I cant make her without hiring a lawyer. I am hoping that my surgeon will fill out the forms for me since he is taking care of my pain, and ordering all the tests to rule out all the possible causes.. something that my internist should have been doing. Needless to say, she is my former internist.. I am finding a new doctor tomorrow. Hugs,
Guest guest
, You have the right to have a fmla for your fibro, it's a chronic condition, or any other health issues. Fmla is for surgery, a chronic health condition requiring periodic time off. They all piss and moan (excuse me) when they have to fill them out, but geeze, it will take her five minutes. Good luck, and hope you feel better, Deb

Guest guest
Dear , ::Big Soft Hugs:: I'm soooo sorry you're going through all of this, girlfriend. I'm sorry that you're in so much pain and even more sorry that your PCP is being a (words removed for adult content)! I'm glad to read that you are reporting her to your state's insurance board. If I were you and you felt up to it, I would call her office ONE MORE time and tell her, without " threatening " her that you planned to do this. Perhaps it will open her eyes, so to speak. You're in my prayers. Sis. Truly. Love, Trace
Guest guest
Dear Trace, I did call my internist/s office again today, and they promptly hung up on me each time.. a total of three altogether. I give up with her and her rude office staff. I did , however, find me a new internist.. I will be seeing him tomorrow am ... I am very sick with an upper respiratory infection or sinus or something.. so timing was good. I just hope he is all that my friend who reccomended him said he is.. I will let you know. Thanks for the support and hugs.. I had already told her nurse that I planned to report her to the state composite board of medical examiners, the joint commission, my insurance carrier , and etc. I dont think my internist believes I will do anything.. haha.. boy, is she in for a rude awakening this time.. Guest guest
Dear , You know.. I am glad to hear that you are going to report her and her office. Accountability for one's actions, at home and in the work place is a WONDERFUL thing. She really, really needs to be held accountable for her abominable and unprofessional behavior. I do not wish her harm or any evil thoughts but I do hope that she gets censured/reprimanded to the full extent of the laws that govern her. I hope you feel better soon and I pray, pray, pray your new PCP is a fair and kind doctor. Lots of love, Trace
