Auto Activation Deficit (AAD) and CHARGE?

DB-LINK has been asked if there are any cases of auto-activation deficit

and CHARGE. I can't find anything in the medical literature linking the

two. AAD is also called psychic akinesia or athymhormia.

This is a simple description " A French neurological team has described a

surprising new brain disorder — a deficit of spontaneous conscious

thinking. LaPlane and Dubois describe it as " auto-activation

deficit. " (*) People with this problem lose spontaneous conscious

feelings, thought and actions — until they are asked to do

something. Then they act perfectly well.

Maybe it should be called Standby Disorder The neurologists write,

" They tend to stay in the same place all day long, sitting on a

chair or lying on their bed, taking no initiatives and asking no

questions, although they answer questions appropriately. They do not

move around or engage in spontaneous activity. " But " the most

enigmatic symptom encountered in these patients is mental emptiness.

Their mind is `empty, a total blank,' they say. In most typical

cases, they have no thoughts and no projections for the

future. " http://sci-con.org/2002/05/empty-mind-a-brain-disorder/

Have any of you encountered this diagnosis or anything like it? Thank

you so much for your help

sounds like one extream example of my mind blanks. I would like to stick

with the notion that mine are caused by stress brought on by past life

experiences or stress of the moment. Im just writing mine off as a result of

night time seizures and stress and dissociations in the day. Id be

interested in reding up more if you do have any additional information!

Could very well be that, Pam - seems to happen a lot as we learn more about

things. We are doing great - no time for a " let down " from Disney, I'm neck

deep into six courses!

As much as passivity can be a huge factor with combined vision and

hearing loss, I have to say I have NEVER met a person with CHARGE

whose mind was mentally blank and I would be very concerned about any

doctor that suggested otherwise.
