Guest guest
You got what you asked for! Guardian on the 28th. From what I hear from several sources, $10/hr for paramedics, $8/hr for EMT basics, and they don't recognize EMT- Intermediates at all. If you want to apply you have to leave a blank, signed check. This is used in case you lose or damage any equipment on your shift. Hope you have a large balance in your checking account. Congrats, Bastrop County! You got exactly what you asked for. And remember, folks, Starflight is 1-800-531-STAR.
Guest guest
Mr., I would think you would research your statements you post!! This is NOT true at all!! It even sounds crazy to someone . to leave a blank check to replace lost or damaged equipment. The CORRECT information on the whole BLANK check thing is for your direct deposit. You dont sign the check at all! Matter of fact you are to write VOID all over it. I have worked for guardian for a while have you ever worked for them? They are a great company. If you need to know more so your postings will be correct just email me back. Good day Mike wrote: You got what you asked for! Guardian on the 28th. Guest guest
Sorry to say Mike that you don't have a clue on what you are talking about. They do recognize EMT-I and the Blank check you strongly suggest is to pay for damaged equipment is not. They pay by direct deposit. > > You got what you asked for! > > Guardian on the 28th. Guest guest
I've heard this from multiple, reliable sources. And you're right - it DOES sound crazy. The potential employees in question asked SPECIFICALLY about the check, as direct deposit will take a VOIDED check. They report in no uncertain terms being told that the check was for re-imbursement of damaged or lost equipment, not for direct deposit purposes. And these are folks that were interested in working for Guardian in Bastrop County, not folks against the whole deal and anti-Guardian... so I tend to believe their side of things (as I know that they would have gone to work for Guardian doing 911 in Bastrop County had their been a realistic offer and decent terms). Both were disappointed in how the company appeared to handle potential employees and both stated a desire to have nothing to do with Guardian from there on out. Needless to say, I trust both individuals from whom I've heard the SAME information in DIFFERENT, SEPARATE conversations. Mike > Mr., > > I would think you would research your statements you post!! Guest guest
Mr. - I'd check your sources. The check is unsigned with VOID written all over it to confirm direct deposit (people have written down wrong account numbers in the past), and the damaged equipment waver is only for intentionally damaged equipment. It's not for stolen stuff or normal wear and tear type damage. Guardian recognizes EMT- Intermediates. However, when it comes to a 9-1-1 county, their primary focus is that they have a medic on the truck. Intermediates get paid acording to the sliding scale, as does everyone else. There is a flat rate for medics and basics, but number of years involved with EMS also has a play in your hourly wage. Just thought you'd like to make an informed judgement. - Finch > > You got what you asked for! > > Guardian on the 28th. Guest guest
I wouldn't say Texas is the most disrespectful paying state there is. I was getting barely over minimum wage as a basic in the state of Georgia and paramedics there start out right at 9.40/hr in most services. P.S. AMR does not recognize Intermediates either. Guest guest
, That's funny, the intermediates that work for us have some very progressive protocols. It think that you also need to verify your statements before you make inaccurate statements. As I'm sure you made be aware that AMR is a nationwide company. Each operation may be different than another. To make any type of a blanket statement condemning one company or another only demonstrates to others either a lack of knowledge or judgment. Guest guest
As Larry so aptly said, " I don't have a dog in this fight " .... Anybody going to work for any organization, needs to look into the practices of that organization. Pretty simple really. For anyone who has been in this business more than a day or two, you can remember working for someone who had more than a 'little' trouble making payroll.. It makes no difference if they are private, city county fire based or hospital based. I have talked with services that looked great from the outside, but only paid 13 on 24...nope, not this little grey duck!!! Somewhere along the line, they fill the slots with someone who is willing to do just that. I have worked for some who said that my full time job schedule was " no problem at all " then 2 weeks later got irritated when I was late after a structure fire.... Point being is that many services will often try and find a way to cut corners and save money. If the avenues that they choose don't sit well with you, move on. Better yet, find out the practices BEFORE signing on with them, thereby saving you a lot of grief and aggravation. I don't know how Guardian does personnel issues, doesn't matter to me really, I don't work for them, and don't want to drive to Bastrop County anyway!!! If anyone here chooses to work for them, when the interviewer asks you that ever infamous question, " Do you have any questions for us? " , that means its your turn!! Ask away, if you don't, there is nobody to blame but yourself. If you know someone who currently works for the organization that you choose to go to, ask them questions, if you know any former employers, ask them questions as well. Remember that past employees may be bitter, current employees may be biased, and those who have never worked for them may be guessing.
