Guest guest
Welcome Bob! Great to have you with us! You'll find we are one big family here. We're all sisters and brothers, and we even have a " mom " who takes care of us. When you hear us refer to Mom, we mean Curran who is Vitalady. I recommend you visit her website www.vitalady.com to order some protein samples to try. Supplementing with protein drinks may fill you up enough so you eat less and are able to lose some of that weight that your surgeon wants you to. You are right, the risks of not having the surgery are greater than having it. I look forward to getting to know you better. Take care. Jeanne in WI Age 39 - Dr. T. Introduction Importance: High Hello All, I am currently 19 days Post Op from an Open RNY. I was referred to this website by Bowen. I owe her a BIG Thank YOU! I already belong to another support group( OSSG Afram ) where I have a list buddy by the name of Sharon Buck. She is a wonderful cheerleader and is quick to advise when one of us is in need. I am noticing that this list server has the same camaraderie. I am hoping to glean more information from other WLS patients as I proceed with my new life. To date, I have lost 27 pounds since surgery and am tickled with the loss and the fact that I can get into some clothes that have not fit for over a year makes me happier. I just want to Thank all of you in advance for the advise and shoulders that I am sure I will need in the very near future. Lynne D. Guest guest
Dear Trace, Thank you for the warm welcome. I am truly pleased with my loss so far. Today, another .5 lbs down. After reading a lot of the posts, I have gone to 's (aka MOM) website and have ordered some protein samples. I started with Designer whey - YUCK! I could not get this stuff down for all the gagging that I did. My husband found Twin Lab Whey Protein in the Army Commissary and that has been more palatable. Now that I am on the " soft diet " I will need to look for some protein bars to take to work. This is truly the beginning of a NEW life style and a HUGE learning Curve. Thank you all for such a warm welcome. Lynne D. Hermanson Re: Introduction Dear Lynne, Welcome and congrats on your successful surgery and terrific weight loss!
