Question: Vista Vitamins

I just stumbled onto vistavitamins.com -- apparently they're

associated with spotlighthealth.com which is affiliated with Carnie

, et al.

My question is: Does anyone have experience with the vitamins they

sell?

I've been to other web sites regarding vitamins and supplements;

trying to not only find the best value for my money, but

*convienence* and information.

I've already dropped nearly $200 on miscellenous vitamins and

supplements and am still confused as to what and how much -- it seems

to me that a product that has the right amount of nutrients in one

pill rather than having to take 5 or more is convienent and worth the

cost.

Any insight is appreciated!

TIA ~

I dunno, but given that you are not supposed to take iron with your other

vitamins, etc. I'd be suspicious of a " one vitamin fits all. " type of thing.

Since I'm following my bloodwork, I'd rather have my vitamins separately so

that if I end up over in one, I can lessen it, rather than have them all

together in a pill. Plus - we can't do b12 in a pill - (well, those of us

who are bypassed) because we just don't have the intrinsic factor to absorb

it.

I take the vistavitamins. I like them! They recommend taking 8 a day I only

take 4 a day 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM. I use other vitamins with them.

Allot of people think they are expensive, but if they work and keep me healthy

then I'm going to keep buying them. They also do not upset my stomach, which

allot of vitamins do so this is a plus for me. If you call the 800 number they

will send you samples of them to try and a coupon off of your first order. I

asked my doctor and he said they have very adequate amounts of minerals that we

need now. Hope this helps!

This is why I do only 1/2 of the recommended amount so I supplement with

trinsicon, calcium, stool softener, and another multivitamin! I also get a b12

shot monthly. So I don't rely on a 1 fits all pill!

Pam, a, , nette, and Sharon ~

Thanks so much for your comments and input. , I don't know if

vistavitamins have the proper amount of anything ... henceforth my

post. I'm thinking that it's probably better to just buy each tablet

individually.

I have seen vitalady.com and plan to order some samples soon!

They're not a BAD product. But they're just a multi vite in a fancy jacket.

They're not " tipped " for us at all. In fact, none of the " bariatric products "

I've seen are really right for us. But a few people have found a market in us,

so do up special advertising and voila, you have a bariatric supplement. One

product sells for $70/jug. You'd go thru 4 jugs/week to get enough out of it,

and STILL have to add, calcium + D, iron + C, A, & E, and B12. LOL!

Good point, . I hadn't thought of that angle before. With

as many WLS going on nation-wide, there is a market there.

I appreciate your insight.

I think of us as " targets " . LOL!

I mean, we're a pretty desperate population, long stigmatized for our obesity,

and now we have these people catering just to " us " , and it's kinda flattering.

Good thing this whole industry developed long after I started or I'd be

foll;owing right along. Pre-op, what I knew about nutrition would fill a

teaspoon, you know?
