I went and got those ice pop makers, I got it at Linens and Things. It makes

4 large ones, not those skinny ones that are out there.

BUT, DOES anyone have a good idea how to make them w/o them tasting like a

big ice cube?? I made them with Crystal Light, but the water all rises to

the surface???

Joyce, try clicking on the link below. What I did was to replace the 3/4

cup sugar with Splenda. then when I followed their suggestion to put the

remaining amount in the freezer I had the same problem you did.

I let it melt to nearly room temp and then put it in an ice cube tray. Then

when I wanted some, I put the amount of slushy ice cubes in the food

processor (blender) and voila: a slushy just the size I wanted. maybe this

will be just as good or better than an ice pop? Is for me.

Great idea and I have a slushy maker, thanks. By the way, congrads on the

dog contest, you did great proving them wrong. Bet your dogs are well

trained out of love too, and not fear of their masters either.

Joyce,

I have to say, the dogs I've seen in agility want to be doing what they are

doing and working with their owners. It is different than obedience or

other kinds of training. You simply can't make a dog go a zillion miles an

hour or through tunnels or over various solid obstacles. These owners love

their dogs! Maybe LOL it is people they are not so good with?

thanks for the congrats. I have no idea if I'll do it again or not. Only

time will tell and I will not compete in the hot summer months, but boy oh

boy did we have fun and we will continue in our own back yard just because

we enjoy each other's company.

Maybe I'll join you in a slushy tonight :-)

Judith,

Did you watch any of the Crufts show? One of the 'dog' interest blurbs

was on the agility competition & the latest breed to be entered was Pug!

they did much better on the jumps, had some issues with the ramps & nearly

the entire team ignored anything that resembled a tunnel! They were so cute

to watch. Evidently there were people who had issues with them being

entered since they are not traditional, but afterwards so many people were

congratulating the people with the pugs, and those little pups were nothing

but grins and flapping tongues by time they were done.

I only wish I could get one of our dogs to run these courses, but he's a

scent hound that loves everyone and no matter what I do, will not obey

(or be bribed) unless he wants to.....

Congrats on your competition!

beth

ps - keep us informed if your dog makes you do this again!
