Guest guest
: You and me both!!!! will grind her teeth, and sometimes even will " rub " them together and make them squeak. The teeth grinding was even mentioned at the last meeting at school for ! Someone stated she had an appliance she wore at night, but could be worn during the day also. (It only fit on her back four molars to prevent them touching and being able to grind.) However, I don't see how to do that with her oral sensory issues. I think it also gives her added stimulation to her ears. I did tell them that when they see her " popping " her mouth/teeth, it probably means she has sinus pressure. I've noted it when she is home: When I have sinus pressure or headache, I see her dropping her jaw and snapping her teeth together (what I call " popping " ). They have got to understand it isn't JUST an issue with her teeth grinding from tension (and they don't quite get that, either); but it can be for numerous reasons such as stimulation, pressure relief, stress/tension, poor ear drainage.the list goes on and on! We've tried signing to tell her to stop; told her she is hurting her teeth; told her the dentist won't be happy because she is hurting her teeth; that it bothers other people, etc. The only thing we've found that works is simply to tap her lightly on the hinge of the jaw and tell her to stop. I'm sure she isn't aware when she is doing it, otherwise. Guest guest
Hi, amita grinds too all the time. drives me nuts. her dentist isn't worried right now. I think it is the sensory input that she gets from it. she does that when reading a book, sitting in the car etc. we do that tap on the jaw to get her attention to it.but nothing works. let me know if there's some solution out there. Guest guest
Hey, We've got a teeth grinder too. says she can't help it. I, too, believe she doesn't even know she's doing it. We just remind her to stop. She'll go right back but the reminder lasts a minute or so!! She also sucks on her tongue and makes constant slurping noises. We believe these are due to her high pallette. The teacher and students notice it and also remind her to stop. Colleen mom to ,

Guest guest
Ian- Sorry you all had the 'ickys'. Cai is looking terrific. He sure appears to be thriving! And you can tell him, even though he's all boy, he still needs to project " pink " ,( with possible slight tinges of 'carrot orange' around the edges). ;-) in Ma.
