Guest guest
I know we all, from time to time, have a wish list. Almost at the top of my wish list is to be able to get rid of " dial up " . There are so many advantages, at least for me, for living in a rural area, but having to put up with " dial up " is not one of them. In the meantime, I'll just be thankful I have a computer. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Oh Eunice I would so love to be rural and have lovely walks and nice scenery and be somewhere else than in the Texas heat lol but I guess I dont appreciate having road runner until I read something like this. Guest guest
Eunice, until 3 years ago I lived on a farm in a 'rural' area. Only had dial up too. But I checked with my phone company and found that having a second phone line (maybe just with local calls not long distance and the whole shebang?) didn't cost that much so my dh and I decided to have 2 lines: one for phone calls and one to leave the PC on all day if we wanted to. Would that be an option for you? Oh to be back in a rural area again. I absolutely hate this developement life! yuck. I want to see my horses out the window and not have to pull blinds to walk around naaaaaked! JUDITH > I know we all, from time to time, have a wish list. Guest guest
You are truly blessed with your husband. Mine is good, but if jealousy was allowed, your grass is certainly greener than mine! I am also not on the computer as much as I use to be. I find that there isn't enough difference in DSL and the accelerated dial up (which is what I have). I have a cell phone that friends and family can call if the line is busy, also did you know that if you do have a crll phone and call waiting on your home line, you can forward your phone to your cell phone before getting on the computer and all calls will come in there. I don't do this any more as every one that wants to talk to me knows my cell number. Just a thought for thouse of you on dial up..
