I know we all, from time to time, have a wish list. Almost at the top of my

wish list is to be able to get rid of " dial up " . There are so many

advantages, at least for me, for living in a rural area, but having to put up

with

" dial up " is not one of them.

In the meantime, I'll just be thankful I have a computer.

Hi Judith,

I do have a second phone line. That was a Christmas gift from hubby several

years ago.

Eunice,

until 3 years ago I lived on a farm in a 'rural' area. Only had dial up

too. But I checked with my phone company and found that having a second

phone line (maybe just with local calls not long distance and the whole

shebang?) didn't cost that much so my dh and I decided to have 2 lines: one

for phone calls and one to leave the PC on all day if we wanted to. Would

that be an option for you?

Oh to be back in a rural area again. I absolutely hate this developement

life! yuck. I want to see my horses out the window and not have to pull

blinds to walk around naaaaaked!

You are truly blessed with your husband. Mine is good, but if jealousy was

allowed, your grass is certainly greener than mine!

I am also not on the computer as much as I use to be. I find that

there isn't enough difference in DSL and the accelerated dial up

(which is what I have). I have a cell phone that friends and

family can call if the line is busy, also did you know that if you

do have a crll phone and call waiting on your home line, you can

forward your phone to your cell phone before getting on the computer

and all calls will come in there. I don't do this any more as every

one that wants to talk to me knows my cell number. Just a thought

for thouse of you on dial up.. Hugs, Tres
