Hi, and welcome!I don't know much about chiari, but I understand that symptoms may be similar to symptoms of MS. And I don't know if the surgery always brings relief when you have chiari (I told you, I don't know much about it...). What I CAN tell you is that white matter lesions can be so very many things – basically it's just scar tissue of some kind, and there are (unfortunately) many things that can scar brain and nerve tissue. It could be MS, but it could be many other things as well. Have your doctor suggested MS? Or is that something you are worried about or thinking about yourself? How do you feel about that prospect? Worried/scared or hopeful (hope that if it's MS it could be treated), or perhaps a little bit of both?I can't really say what you should do, other than to keep communicating with your doctor. Keep asking questions, and keep demanding to be given the help that is there to give. OK, A really meaningless post... I guess I should have just said: welcome! love/Reb>> Hi, I joined this group a while back, but this is my first post.My question is was anyone diagnosed with chiari and even had surgery before ms diagnosis? All my symptoms over the years led to chiari diagnosis, but after two chiari decompressions,no releif, now after a recent mri the report says t2 hyperintense white matter lesions what should i do?>

Reb, you are way too hard on yourself! This is definitelya meaningful, and well-meaning post!I too, am at a loss as what to say, but I would, if you don'talready have one, get in touch with a good neuro--perhapssomeone who is recommended to you. I'm not sure if withchiari, you already have a neuro. duh.Do you have any of the symptoms of MS?hugs, Kate Re: possible msTo: MSersLife > Hi, and welcome!> > I don't know much about chiari, but I understand that symptoms > may be> similar to symptoms of MS. What does your neurologist say about this? What a shame you have been through two surgeries and it might have been an error. Then again, is it possible to have Chiari and MS?How are you feeling and what are your symptoms now?hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
