Guest guest
This is similar to the " valsalva " maneuver where one bears down but more in the chest area, as if to bring up a belch. I learned this by instinct, when I had discomfort in my chest, or as I read in a book once, " wind around the heart. " For years I have used this maneuver to burp, and it always helps ease off ectopics/pvcs. It helps with afib, too, supposedly. In fact, I saw a " Life in the ER " episode in which a young girl with a very rapid heartbeat is brought in, and they ask her to bear down as if she is in labor. Unfortunately, she happened to be pregnant, but she did not go into labor. Her heartbeat converted to normal. Lil In a message dated 4/28/2006 2:34:44 P.M.
