The report concluded that the virginal nuns had the lowest rate of cervical cancer, the partners of circumcised men did almost as well, and the peasant women had rates of cervical cancer exceeding that of the barrios and ghettos of today. It turns out that circumcision only makes it easier to maintain proper hygiene, and makes it more obvious when a man has a significant problem...and that circumcision, in and of itself is not a good way to prevent cervical cancer. Guest guest
You've obviously never had the BBQ from Memphis, Tennessee (opposite end from my home of Knoxville). You don't think Elvis and ny Cash got so talented eating hamburgers, do you? Beside, if not for Sam Houston and Crockett, you'd be a Mexican citizen - and I've been a naturalized Texan longer than you've been alive. Guest guest
Cervical Cancer may not be a sexually transmitted disease and we all know HPV is, but cervcal cancer is a major killer of women even though it can be prevented through regular exams, etc.. we all know that. So if we prevent HPV will we prevent ALL cases of cervical cancer, probaably not but they may be reduced significantly. It is not a matter of a girl or woman being sexually promiscuous either, what if she is raped, that happens more often than we know. I don't disagree with the vaccine being givenn to pubexcent girls but I do think it should be a decision made between the girl, her parents, and her doctor, kids these days know a lot more about sex and sexually transmitted diseases than we give them credit for, even if it is not discussed in the home. I have two daughters, ages 22 and 18, one in the Navy and one who will be starting college in the fall. I will advise both of my girls to get this vaccine after some more research. It is better to be safe than sorry. Again not because they are promiscuos or may be sexually active, but just in case there is an act of violence and they get raped which they have no control over, they would still be protected. We all know Merck is going to make a lot of money but let's be informed about what we are advising before we really jump on this bandwagon. Anita NREMTP/LP Take care and stay safe always.
