Guest guest
Hi! I am on Byetta. I started this a few months ago and have been very successful!!! I am now only using the Byetta and an oral agent....no more Insulin! I have lost weight and feel like a new person, but physically and mentally....My appetite has diminished, but that is a GOOD thing. If you have any questions, or just want some more feedback, please feel free to contact me!!! Sue in VA
Guest guest
HI, I'm on Byetta. Have been since Dec. I'm new to this group but thought I would jump in. I've lost about 30 pounds on the Byetta and my last A1C was 4.6. I'm feeling well and am enjoying the benefits of being on Byetta. I highly recommend it to any type 2. If you have any question please feel free to ask. Blessings, Byetta Hi, I have not heard any mention of Byetta for a while. Guest guest
Hi, Byetta is made from the saliva of the Gila Monster. It helps one lose weight and also control their bgs. It is the newest on the market. I love it. Blessings, Re: Byetta is this one of the sulfa drugs??? sharon Byetta Hi, I have not heard any mention of Byetta for a while. Guest guest
Byetta is the synthetic copy of the saliva of the gila monster. They don't kill gila monsters in the lab to make Byetta. I thought that I better send that in. We don't want to sacrifice all those lizzards! le
Guest guest
I have been on Byetta now for about 7 weeks. Although I had great control on 5mcg, I moved up to 10 after the first 30 days. I almost immediately started having headaches and a lot of anxiety. I also just pretty much felt lousy. After 10 days of this, my endocrinologist suggested that i go back to 5mcg. That was four days ago. I am feeling better now. I would like to be able to talk with or hear from others who are also on Byetta. I notice that there is very little talk of it on this forum. Do any other Byetta people have suggestions? Thx. You could go to the Yahoo groups and do a search on Byetta to see if there are any groups. hugs Eunice
Guest guest
Hi Pat~~~ I am on Byetta too. I started on the 5 and was boosted to the 10 after a month. I did have some initial added nausea, but can say nothing at all severe. I feel spectacular on it. I am losing weight and just feeling wonderful at this point. I am sorry you are having problems with it. Has your Endo suggested adding something for the anxiety? or are you sure it is the Byetta?? Guest guest
Hiya! I don't use Byetta myself but my boss does. And she has had great luck once the nausea passed. Her sugars used to always be in the high 100's and more. She has lost and kept off about 16lbs so far. Her doctor took her off glyberide but she still takes metformin. She had a problem yesterday getting her scrip filled. Seems like every place she tried calling for the 5 was out. She had to have her doctor call in a new scrip for the 10. She was warned that she might go through all the side effects all over again. But so far so good. So far I haven't had to try it, but if I do, I will be willing! Sending sunshine and flowers, (sweet but not enough to raise your sugars I hope.) --- Ogle karenogle133@...> wrote: > HI, > I'm on Byetta. Have been since Dec. Guest guest
, I'm glad your boss is having such good results with Byetta. If you decide to try it I wish you the best of luck. Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group. I've had type 2 diabetes for 7 years but over the last 18 months or so my numbers have been harder and harder to control. I was maxed out on pills and the endocinologist had me start Byetta last week. I vomit about 40% of the time after i take it and am nauseas (sp?) for about 2-3 hours after taking it most of the time..does anyone else use it? did you have these side effects? how long do they last? it is really hard to work and to try and time it so i'm not sick on the train during the commute. any suggestions, most welcome! .. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, Many have said the nausea passes in time. Mine did for the most part. It is only mild anyway, in my case. Try eating just as soon as you inject and see if that helps. I've also hear others say that ginger helps. Ginger pills, ginger tea, ginger ale. Give these a try. After a couple of weeks you should be feeling better I think. Blessings, Hi, I am new to the group. Guest guest
I hope you are right. I have vomited 10 days out of 11 now. I do eat right after injecting. I will try the ginger. In the meantime, doctor has put me on reglan to overcome the vomiting. I start that tonite, will see how it goes...how long have you been using byetta? is it working well? Guest guest
, The reglan should help. I used to take that because I have reflux problems. I've been on Byetta since dec 2005. It is working well for me. I've never had better control. I really hope you get over the nausea and sickness. My last A1C was 4.6. Im in good control and I'm losing weight too. I'm seriously overweight and so glad to be on Byetta. I wish I had more help for the nausea. I've learned that eating cold food helps sometimes. I wish you the best. Blessings, I hope you are right.
