Last week I was in afib for almost two days on and off (more on).

No other discomfort - my pulse rate was 135. I eventually decided to

go to emergency. Just wondering how long should you leave it before

deciding you need help? Thank you in advance.

I recommend you ask your Dr. However; I find that most Dr's don't want a

person in afib for more than 48 hrs. because of the risk of a blood clot forming

in the atrium. The risk goes down if you take a blood thinner.

Another consideration is how you feel. If you are very symptomatic, dizzy,

generally feeling bad etc. you might want to go to the ER. Also; depending on

your age there is a heart rate factor, you don't want your rate to go too

high. 220 minus your age is a nominal max. heart rate.

I hope this is a little help.
