Guest guest
I usually eat some salad and meat leftover from dinner or a hard boiled egg or some tuna. I seem to crave salad and raw veggies lately. > Hey Everybody- > Anyone have any suggestions in terms of what you're > eating for lunch. Guest guest
Hi Vivian - Nice to hear from you. Keep up the good work with the exercising. I've gotten back at it this week also. For lunch, I have a small bowl of berries or half a grapefruit. Sometimes I might have 3 slices of cheese instead. I find that the fruit once a day helps with the constipation. Guest guest
Dear Vivian, Hey, Sis! I've been eating tuna salad on Triscuits. Crunchy, salty Triscuits with tuna salad, lots of celery and mayonaise. Yum. Also made a big batch of egg salad that is terrific on toasted, Sugar-Free Whole Wheat bread by Nature's Own. Add lettuce and tomatoe and lots of salt and pepper. Do you like refried beans and cheese? Taco Bell has two side orders -- pintos and cheese and rice and cheese. I order both and eat some of each side. It usually lasts me two, sometimes three lunches. Good ole stand-by -- sliced turkey or chix breast, rolled up with provolone cheese and an assortment of olives and pickles. Mm. Take good care. Love, Trace
Guest guest
Oh I made that zucchini lasagna too. YUMMY! For lunches I usually have a fruit. WHen at awork. But at home I will have a dish of cottage cheese, or tuna on crackers (triscuts are wonderful) or something like that. The minute I get home I am sure I make a shake! One for breakfast and one for snack before supper. Guest guest
How much food can you eat at a time? I had surgery Dec 18th, 02 and started out like a 1/4 cup then I started vomitting everything and now I can eat a cup or more, and not vomit. I wonder since I used to vomit daily that I messed up my pouch? Any suggestions from anyone would be great!!! a Re: Lunch suggestions > Oh I made that zucchini lasagna too. Guest guest
a - I try to eat around a 1/2 cup portion at each meal, but I know sometime I exceed this and can eat more like a cup of food at a meal. Of course it depends on what I'm eating. Carbs go down real easy! Hi - My name is Jeanne and I am a carbaholic! Jeanne
Guest guest
It depends on what I'm eating. I can eat - comfortably - 3-4oz of meat. If I'm eating salad, I can eat a cup, easily. Soup I can handle more. Pam in Niceville lap 11/20/02 ----- Re: Lunch suggestions > > > Oh I made that zucchini lasagna too. YUMMY! > > For lunches I usually have a fruit. WHen at awork. Guest guest
a, what does your surgeon say? Has your loss stopped? I think a major sign of staple disruption is the falling off of the loss... Also, early on, I could eat a cup of stuff that was light and soupy, but only a 1/4 or 1/2 cup of something more substantial. It depends on the density of the food. Think about what kinds of foods you can eat a cup of... Also, why not measure your foods before you eat... measure out 1/4 cup and see if it makes you full, then measure out another 1/4 cup and see how it makes you feel. Are you getting the signals from your stomach that it's satisfied? Maybe you're missing signals. Sharon in D.C. Re: Lunch suggestions How much food can you eat at a time? Guest guest
Sharon, I haven't seen my surgeon yet, I go to him the end of May. I was the same as you I can eat a cup of soupy stuff. But when I went to solids most of them I vomited even on one bite. Everyone says because of eating to much well that wasn't the issue I only had one bite. We'll it passed appox 2 weeks ago and now nothing bothers me now. I haven't had sweets so I don't know about them and don't want to know. I couldn't keep meats down without vomiting so I surly don't want sugar. I definitely know how to vomit. I just feel that since I can eat approx 1 cup of food, and it doesn't fulfill me for a long time, and since I vomited allot it hurt the pouch? After you eat how long do you stay satisfied? When I crave something I chose protein like cheese or fruit. And no my weight loss hasn't stopped. I had surgery Dec 18th and have lost 65lbs and 26 inches. I think it should be more but everyone tells me that I'm doing fine. I always have 2 to 3 week plateau every month and I work out at the gym 6 days a week. So I would think the weight would come off faster. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks for caring. a Re: Lunch suggestions > > > > Oh I made that zucchini lasagna too. Guest guest
Pam, You had your surgery a month before I did, how much have you lost? Where did you have your surgery done at? It's weird today at work I had 1/2 c of fish and I was full, I was getting full before he 1/2 actually. But for dinner tonight I had 1/2c turkey meatloaf and 1/2c of cottage cheese. It's weird one time I can eat more and get hungry more often the next time I can eat very little and be stuffed. I used to get a feeling of fullness in my throat when I ate and now I don't get that feeling anymore. You can eat a cup of salad or more of that? Thanks for caring! a Re: Lunch suggestions > > > Oh I made that zucchini lasagna too. YUMMY! > > For lunches I usually have a fruit. WHen at awork. Guest guest
Hi, a. I'm 44 lbs out. Slow going for me. Had my surgery done in Atlanta, lap, with Dr. Champion. He's an excellent doc, but not on anyone's insurance (although he will accept insurance) as a provider. Meatloaf is not a " solid " food - that might be why you were able to eat more. Are you taking small bites and chewing them to death? I still do that - it takes me longer to eat and I recognize when I'm full faster. I still don't eyeball the amounts of food well.
