Guest guest
chrystine just got out of the hospital again... the gj tube came out friday night at like 2 am... i had to take her to the er, and nobody in wv can put one in so they gotta put these foley catheters in there to keep her site open. well, anyways since beginning of december, i havent been using the " j " portion anyways cause last time it came out, it was crazy yall. i had to rush her to the er (first timer with the tube out thing and i aint kidding i was freaking!) anyways, the goofs at the hospital here put in the wrong size and i cant do boluses through the cath, theres too much daggon pressure-so i called her docs in cincinnati and they said, you'll have to bring her here so by the time i got her there, she was completely dehydrated and i was infernally hot over the incident so i called charleston's hospitals er administrator! they deserved it. i told them the size, and that i couldnt give her boluses and they sent me outta there to figure it out myself. i decided along time ago that i was gonna worry less about a doctors feelings than my daughters interests. so, this time-they admitted chrystine to the hospital and wanted to run her on a continuous feed. and i was like, for craps sake, i can do this at home and theyre taking a big chance with her cathcing something else in this germ infested hospital. im not taking her back to cincinnati. i loved her g-j tube when i needed the j during a terrible 4 months of constant reflux and man did that thing ever help to get some weight on her! and im sure ill regret not having it when chrystine gets her next stomach virus, but she hasnt needed it in about 2 months now.... oh no, now im second guessing. i was gonna let the surgeon her replace the foley catheter (IS THAT NORMAL BY THE WATY? IS THAT THE NORMAL SOLUTION TO A TUBE OUT?) with just a mickey g button///but, maybe i should drive her to cincinnati tomorrow. what do yall think? oh yeah and does anybody know how we update pur kids pics on the stars page? chrystal crites arleigh-4 chrystine-almost 15 mos and my baby boy silas

Guest guest
I don't understand your. Child is getting a J-tube out? Maybe they need to us a stopper one both inside and out? If you go back to just the g-have them show you how to change it its just like changing an earring .. For the J-tube you need interventional radiology to check placement but the g you just need a stethoscope And yes a foley is a good substitute for a g-tube in fact that what a lot of places use for feeding tubes all the time..... mom to CHARGEr 9/30/01-8/3/03, Robbie and now I am a nurse to.... Guest guest
Yeah, thats what I meant where Im from in ton, there's no pediatric radiologist so I have to take her back to CIncinnati Children's Hosp. to have the g-j replaced. But, I am considering having a surgeon here just put the g button in. thanks. chrystal

That is fantastic that you have taken what you have learned, in many ways as Mom to , and gone on to further your education and to become a nurse. Best wishes to you. :-) Mom to Kendra, and Camille Re:gj tube out again-needin some opinions, please I don't understand your. Child is getting a J-tube out?
