Guest guest
Just a thought about my upcoming ablation. 54 yo male with " lone " afib x 3+ years. On Toprol 100 daily and Aspirin. I supplement with short acting metoprolol, 25 mg as needed. Since my diagnosis over 3 years ago, it has been my dream of having an ablation to rid myself of this " nuisance " which has really stunted my lifestyle. I.e., I seem to define myself by what I can't do, rather than what I could accomplish. Well anyway, it seems that technology and medical experience is finally to the point of offering what I've been hoping for. I'm scheduled for an ablation in 8 days. Everyone I talk to about the procedure has been very enthusiastic about my EP (Angel Leon, at the Carlyle Heart Center of Emory University in Atlanta), and is promising I'll do great. I'm trying not to be too blase' about the whole thing, but am guardedly optimistic. I'm very thankful for the encouragement of all here, esp. Rich. I'll keep you all posted. One more week to " get my life back. "
Guest guest
Best of luck. The process is surprisingly easy (for the patient). You're taking a very important and positive first step.
