Hello,

I thought I would put my two cents in on this subject. The degree

program at UT Health Science Center is a B.S. in Emergency Health

Science. It is not strictly managment though, you have the

flexibility to essentially design the degree, whether it be

management, emergency management, advance practioner or a

combonation. It is a good program, especially for those who work. The

majority of the classes are avaiable online with only one

presently, being madatory and face to face.

The other thing to think about with a management degree is why narrow

it down to a specific topic. Management is management. I did

complete the program at UT with no regrets. I do plan on continuing

my graduate studies although have not decided what major, management

is one being considered. If I do chose management it will be just

that managment. This is actually some advice from one of my

instructors with the intials D.W., who is occasionally on the board.

Hope this helps,

Mike Shown

It's a lot like the EADP (Emergency Administration and Disaster

Planning) that UNT offers - more of a FEMA type track.

Ain't that the truth.

I've been told on a few occasions that I was over qualified for a job and

the fact I did not have a degree was also hurtful for the same job! Figure that

one out.

Nope not always, we live in a world of checklists and if you can't fill in

all the blocks in some cases experience never gets looked at.

Get your MD degree on-line (http://www.iuhs.edu/)

The application is 6X3 inches (about the size of a check)...Hey, I looked

again-it is a check!

Upon graduation you can practice in a third-world country where you will

receive more goats and chickens than you can ever eat!

Just looking for more working parent friendly programs... Still have to work

($$$) and spend time with the kids in order for them to have a halfway decent

childhood. Would like to try and obtain a degree because having a certificate

and experience just doesn't cut it anymore.

Thanks Anyways

I'm in this one which is a National Fire Academy program for our state.

It requires an Associate prior to admission since you enter as a Junior.
