I was wondering what the LEO world thought of this idea.

It's so stupid my 19 year old who wants to be a cop (I think he thinks it

will piss me off) is saying how stupid this thing looks.

What's that, you say? The new network TV show that takes B-list

celebrities and puts them through a basic reserve academy (80 hours

of training) and qualifies then as cops (yep, 2 weeks to be a cop, at

least a reserve, which means limited police powers and only under

direct supervision in Indiana). That's great public perception,

though... 2 weeks to cop and " those hollywood types " qualify.

Personally, I was surprised. Hollywood did a decent job of showing

what calls are like and I look forward to how they handle it.

Surprisingly, Jack Osbourne is someone I wouldn't be afraid to work

with. I was shocked to see that Latoya , however, couldn't

operate a 75-cent coin operated machine (couldn't figure out where to

put the dollar). Scary stuff.

Here's my post in reply to another list about the show...

I watched it and enjoyed it once it became more like " COPS, " the

'traditional' police entertainment show. Tonight's ep ought to be

more interesting.

Big ups to Trish, who cried less than her partner at the house fire.

Having been in the same situation I can say " good on ya! "

Is that Latoya or ? Look at the nose and tell me you

can tell the difference! And WTF with her magic change in shooting

ability? I want to see her implode under stress. Props to her FTO

for putting her firmly in her place to start the shift - that was a

good read by that FTO and a good match by the department.

Jack seems to have the best FTO, and seems to have the best

" attitude " with regards to being a rookie, not a star. I look for

good things from him.

has potential, but he's going to be a distractor on most calls.

Then again, that could be useful.

Wee-Man... well, he's wee-man. You get what you ask for, I suppose.

What I'm looking forward to is the last show, where we get to see if

these Hollywood folks learned anything about the real world, and

anything about the real role of law enforcement. And if /

Latoya can use a bill changer...

BTW - is every call in Muncie a Code 3 call? Are they giving the

" stars " the priority calls? EVERY damn call was " hot. "

Mike :/
