Dear Sandy,

No, I did not experience this after surgery. Did your doctor seem

concerned about the virus? Did he/she tell you about any possible

complications you might experience...?

Try typing the name of the virus into your computer's GOOGLE search

engine. If you've forgotten the name of the virus, just give your doc's

office a call and ask for a nurse to call you back with your chart in front

of her/him. They can help you out as well.

Take good care and God bless you richly.

Love,

---Sandy, I had itching all over my body. The only spots I have are

scabs from scratching so bad. We thought mine was an allergy to the

Vit. A&D oil, so I got some dry from Vitalady. I still have this

itching, still getting scabs. I'm 15 months postop. Thanks for

posting this, maybe I should have this checked again. Lynn

Hi Barbara,

Some people test two hours after starting a meal, while others test two

hours after finishing a meal. I think either one is okay as long as you are

consistent.

Hi-

I have a question about testing- My regular schedule of testing has

only been before eating. I would like to get more control of the

eating process, and find out which foods effect my readings. What I

need to know- is how long after eating should I test?

Thanks, Barbara

I was told by my endo, and nutritionist to test 2 hours after eating. That's

how long it usually takes the foods to breakdown in your system.

Hi Barbara:

What I was taught was to test about 2 hours after eating for best results. This

is what works for me.

I took the compromise road and mark down when I start and finish a meal and

then test 2 hrs from the middle of starting and finishing as close as I can.

Otherwise it is finishing. LOL

I agree with Eunice that consistency is key.

If you have the time/energy/test strips/fingers for it, something you may

want to try sometime is to test at 1 hour and then again at 2 hours just to

see which number is higher. I've found that sometimes my 2-hour number can

actually be HIGHER than the 1-hour number depending on how long it takes to

digest, I guess. Pizza for me in particular seems to create a relatively

slow rise that goes way up and stays there for awhile.

I normally test at 2 hours but I'll throw in a 1-hour test from time to time

just to keep an eye on things and make sure I'm not having a gigantic

glucose spike at 1 hour that's gone by 2 hours when I test, if you follow

what I mean.
