Guest guest
When I look at a candidate's skills I look at several things, first of all safety, is the skill being performed safely?. For instance I tell my students when practicing oxygen administration that if the tank is standing, they MUST have at least one hand on it at all times if there is no base or support for it; otherwise I WILL FAIL them for safety because of the possibility of the tank falling and creating which can create a major safety hazard. Then the absolutes, they of course must be met, then how the candidtate performs the overall skill, can he/she perform the skill proficiently? If the cansisate cannot perform the skill proficiently int he classroom, he /she will not be ableto perform it in the field. I also give them copies of the skill sheets well in advance of testing, usually when we are learning and practicing the skill so they know what is expected of them at test time.
