I am interested in the contact information for Dr. Haissaguerre at Hopital

Cardiologique du Haut-Leveque in Bordeaux, France.

I have had afib since about 1990 and have exhausted 4 medications and hope to

have an ablation. I do not have insurance and remember reading posts here years

ago about those who travelled to France to have them and that, at that time at

least, they were quite inexpensive compared to those done in the U.S.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently had an ablation either

in France or the U.S., especially women as I believe I read somewhere they are

not as successful in women because of the size of our veins. Is this correct?

Thank you.

,

I am wondering who told you that abaltions were not as successful in

women " because of the size of our veins " ?

I have not heard of that or read of that before. All I can tell you

is that I had a succesful ablation with Dr. Natale in Feb. 2005.

If you need contact information or descriptions from people who have

had ablations there, go on afibbers.org. Quite a few people from

Canada and England have gone there, as well as one woman from

Australia. The last I read, an ablation in France costs about $20,000

US but that includes accomodations for the patient and a companion

and pretty much all costs except for airfare. The bill from my

ablation at the Cleveland Clinic was about $60,000, including follow-

up monitoring and a follow-up visit.

Good luck to you.

Dear ,

I cannot recall where I heard this information. That's the trouble with all

the info. I carry around in my brain now. Thanks for the information with

regard to women who've had ablations. I'll check out the website.
