Aemstar EMS - Dispatcher

Overview: Aemstar EMS is currently seeking a qualified candidate for

a full-time dispatcher position. Aemstar EMS is one of the largest

private EMS providers operating a general transport operation

located in Stafford, Fort Bend County. Interested candidates should

The position is for a set-schedule 40 hours per week. Overtime is

available but not guaranteed.

Benefits: The qualified candidate will be entitled to participate in

the Company healthcare/medical benefits program.

Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 21 years of age. A

minimum of two years experience as a dispatcher in either a

municipal or private EMS agency is preferred.

Compensation: Compensation for this position will be discussed

individually with each candidate at the time of interview.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receives and evaluates incoming calls, determines whether

emergency or routine and prioritizes each; determines who needs to

respond to call, relays instructions and questions.

• Operates multi-frequency radio console, data terminals,

computer and data recording equipment, and other radio equipment.

• Accesses databases to obtain various kinds of information.

• Monitors, transmits, and receives information over multiple

radio frequencies to exchange information or provide dispatch

services.

• Maintains accurate records and logs.

Qualified candidates should possess the following skills/abilities:

• Availability to work day, night and weekend shifts, operate

dispatch equipment and other communication equipment, enter,

transcribe, record and store patient information in either written

or electronic form, operate standard desktop computer system, and

possess strong inter-personal skills.

• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the

work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;

carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving

an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to

perform the work.
