What is a healthy BS range for a type 2 diabetic not on insulin to strive for.

In some books I've read 80 to 110 fasting and anything below 180 after

eating and in others I've read lower. Which is the best range to

avoid the long-term diabetic complications.

I have learned so much from this forum. I don't think I'd be doing as

well as I am. Dr. Bernstein's book is what I am following and it is

working great.

Hi there Margaret:

The numbers you cite below sound about right to me. I am type 2, have been for

about 7 years. Mine range usually 80 to 120 or 130 before eating and actually

can go up to 180 plus but less than 200 after eating. I do have those times

where I wait too long to eat then my numbers go lower than 80...or I eat what I

should not and they go above 200.

My opinion based on what I've learned is the ranges you mention below seem about

right.
