Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, Let me say right away, that the probability of me, a layperson, finding something truly medically significant in the absence of an already existing correlation identified through research is less than slim. So that whatever I thought I found would already be known by your docs if it applies to 's JRA. And also, you will be the first to realize if there are significant internal changes, as they will show themselves. > It's bothersome that her injection was not correctly administered. I would use endocrine's findings to further make my case with the school that they MUST do it correctly. But again, my guess is, they are doing it right most always. Why can't she come to the nurse's ofc. for her shot. If a sub. nurse did not know to mix the formula, then protocols are not sufficiently available to all. She should have been working from 's chart or nursing log-and the instructions posted clearly for anyone to see at first glance. What the hell did she think she was putting in the trash can? Geesh.... > I have no experience with HGH. Perhaps it mimics regular growth periods of spurts and rests. The rheum. eval. may shed more light. > HRT I do have experience with. We started 16 1/2 yrs. I think. No sooner. And for the same reasons-boobies. Then she learned what we all know-periods and PMS stink, and boobies only seem cool till you get them, then they're rapidly no big deal. She might be happy to wait a bit in exchange for more height. I believe managed another inch of height after HRT. > One interesting thing about JRA is it can often go into remission when a woman is pregnant. (can come back later). You'd think that would tell somebody something about the nature of it. > And you, Mom, are doing terrifically. You have lots to juggle, lots to keep track of. When we had our Perkins eval. I took in her medical reports, one recent neuropsych eval, current IEP's, and my opinions. I think that was it. I got the feeling they didn't really need much. They already knew. It was just a matter of where to put Di on that sliding scale we call Charge. We could probably make graph representations of our kids. That might be easier than plowing through the history all the time. I could tell you what I gave the school system-I've mentioned that the sped. director took a permanent leave of absence shortly after was placed. Poor guy. He had parent of kids with nothing but SI issues (because they were inside in front of a tv all day) who were threatening legal action to obtain outside placement. However, when I threatened-they finally moved on it. Bye for now. in Ma. (, 21 yrs)
