Guest guest
I've really gotten a lot of exercise in the past two days. I posted " free plants/flowers " on the local Freecycle group. I had 2 people come yesterday and get plants. This morning before I got up, someone was calling wanting to know if he could come in about 45 minutes to get plants. I told him to come on. I jumped out of bed, started my coffee, got dressed and had already starting digging plants for him when he got to the house. How many of you use Freecycle? I've seen treadmills requested and offered. Blood glucose meters have been given away. I've given away old medical books. I've gotten some flowers and several other things. What a great way to meet people! hugs Eunice

Hi Barbie, So far we have not had too much of that. We did have several people ask for cars, but haven't seen that recently. I've noticed that one particular person will ask for almost every thing I offer, but she does have yard sales to raise funds for some " special " children, so I don't mind giving things to her. I have met some wonderful people and made some friends. When I can give something to someone, it makes me happy and helps to keep my bg's normal. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
I've used my local Freecycle.org to give quite a few things away(printers, appliances). Even got a real nice monitor from someone on there. It's a really nice way to save things from the landfills. And it's amazing what people offer on there. They are located all over the place and really worth checking into. > > I've really gotten a lot of exercise in the past two days. I posted " free > plants/flowers " on the local Freecycle group. Guest guest
I do Freecycle. Basically, I just use it to give away things these days. When I finally declutter something, I list it on Freecycle and someone (eventually) comes and takes it away! When I first started with it, I use to get the emails to my mailbox and took a bunch of people up on their offers..mostly I got toys and stuff for my childcare. It's a great concept..but it can get annoying with people basically begging for things like cars and even houses. Barbie _____ From: diabetes [mailto:diabetes ] On Behalf Of ERWachter@... I frequently leave things there with a 'free to a good home' sign on them... they go quickly! I have tried Freecycling in the past... it works good too... but here, I can immediately get it out of my apartment using the laundry room :-)
Guest guest
I love freecycle, when I moved recently we got rid of alot if things on there such as clothes, computers, movies, a stereo and all kinds of things. I love people were so great about picking up things and i liked helping them out. We have also gotten some really great things such as our couch, I got a treadmill and other really great things. I think all groups have " bad seeds " I posted a wanted for black work pants once and a woman replied asking that since we were the same size if I had any clothes to give here!?!?!?!? We see the wanted for cars and outragious stuff, but i dont believe I have ever seen one for a house, unless its people looking for a house to rent. Here we have a sister group to freecycle. Does anyone else have one? Its called a " Cafe " and it allows stuff that is not allowed on Freecycle such as community info and advertising of rummage sales, flea markets etc. People are also allowed to post things for sale on this group. We got a 3 year old washer and dryer set in GREAT condition for $100 from the group. -- - Check Out My FurBabies Nala http://www.catster.com/?214598 Eva http://www.catster.com/?214601 PC http://www.catster.com/?214605 TJ http://www.catster.com/?214607 Kiara http://www.catster.com/?274544
Guest guest
LOL!! I'd try that but I live in a single family home and I'm trying to empty the cluttered laundry room out!!! My neighbors just give their stuff to my son (their son is older than him)...so then I have to freecycle it!!! Yard sales are posted, just about anything you would find in a newspaper classified, but the good part is you don't have to pay for an ad. Glad you got such a good deal on a washer/dryer. Bargain shopping is my hobby and it keeps my bg's and bp normal. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Yeah, it helps draw alot of interest when people can post about yard/rummage sales. Yeah I was so excited about the washer and dryer, it was like Christmas for me. I always love a good deal. > > > In a message dated 5/11/2006 11:30:46 P.M. I've given away old vacuums, kids' clothes, outgrown bikes, and more (including two brand new, in the box, glucose meters). This weekend, I'm going through the closet in my eBay room to find more to get rid of. I've received a book case, box spring and mattress, clothes, some small things. The latest is a glass-top electric stove with a cracked top (we got it from a family we know from Boy Scouts; the parents and dh are Scoutmasters in the troop, so we trust them when they say it works). Now if only I can get an electrician to put a new cord on it and install it. Oh, wait.
