Guest guest
Seems that my lab work wasnt too out of whack.. my liver enzymes are still elevated. However, the nurse practitioner did tell my hubby that something is definitely going on and they intend to find out what.. I am scheduled for an upper GI series tomorrow. I think my internist still believes that all this pain is from adhesions.. and she may be correct in her assumption. Before she is willing to tell me to go to the surgeon or a surgeon, she wants to make sure that nothing else GI is going on. I also talked to the nurse at the bariatric surgeon/s office this morning. She had finally been able to talk to the doctor. He wants me to come to the office in the am for some fasting blood work.. some very specific tests that he wants drawn. After that, he wants me to do a hemoccult test.. and is scheduling me for a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis.. dye and air contrast....... and then wants me to have a colonoscopy. After these tests are complete, I am to come into the office and be seen by him.. I have filed the paperwork.. actually taken the forms to my pcp.. to take a medical leave of absence from work. I am not sure I qualify to do this, but we are trying anyway. I sure dont feel up to working in this kind of pain, and hope I am able to obtain leave. Well, it has been a long day and probably will be a longer night.. very stormy here in the south .. tornado warnings, severe t storms , and tornado watches out.. Guest guest
Dear , I'm glad you have a competent doctor looking after you. The upper GI tests are always a good idea. Have you been scoped recently? Forgive me if you posted that and I missed it. About your work situation.. I can't imagine your work not allowing you a medical leave of absence if you are in constant pain. Wait. Scratch that. Why am I assuming most companies are compassionate regarding their employees health and well-being...? I hate being sarcastic but it's the truth. Do you think it's time you called Dillard's home office and spoke with someone in Compensation and Benefits...? Always go to the top, is my motto. It really does pay to speak to the office/person in charge when you have a problem. With your medical files/records, I don't think you'd have any problem getting a medical leave of absence, especially if your doctor fills out some paperwork. I took a medical leave of absence with my first pregnancy (I was three months along) because I was throwing up constantly and had become dehydrated and was in ketosis. My OB/GYN told me to go home and rest and make sure I kept this baby. I did and it was the best decision I ever made. Take good care, Sis. You're in my prayers. Guest guest
I am glad you wrote to tell me what your physicians said but I am not quite sure why the medical leave is being taken? do you get that with pay or do they just hold the job for you? is it so you can go for tests? keeep me posted. Listen to this- thursday morning I woke up to go to the bathroom and was very dizzy. I got out of bed and the room started spinning; instead of sitting at the edge of the bed to get my bearings I started walking to the bathroom, lost my balance and hit the floor like a ton of bricks. I could not get up; I was on both knees. I hurt both ankles and one knee badly. Finally I crawled up my closet door, called my husband and he came home and we managed to get me in bed and ice me. The next day the pain was awful but workable and I stayed iced; i even did p.t.. Over the w/e I thought I would die and today I cancelled p.t. and made an appt with the orthopedic surgeon for Wed. because no one could take me there until then. In the interim I am living on oxycodone drops and pills. Will report back to all when I know what is doing. Guest guest
Dear Joyce, I am so sorry that you fell down and hurt yourself. I sure hope the orthopedic doctor can help you on Wednesday. I am taking a medical leave to hold my position .. no pay involved that I am aware of .. but protects my job until I know more about what is going on with me. In the event that I need to be off for more than a few more weeks, I will probably be forced to resign and re apply when I am able to return to work. Take care hugs,
Guest guest
Joycie, Honey, sorry you've fallen and can't get up. Hang in there honey, don't break anything, my joints are hurting for you. Love, Deb
