" Epinephrine plays a central role in the short-term _stress_

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_(medicine)) reaction-the

physiological response to

threatening or exciting conditions (see _fight-or-flight response_

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fight-or-flight_response) ). It is secreted by

the _adrenal

medulla_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrenal_gland) . When released into

the

bloodstream, epinephrine binds to multiple _receptors_

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Receptor_(biochemistry)) and has numerous

effects throughout the

body. It increases _heart rate_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_rate)

and

(heart irritability) _stroke volume_ >>

Ye Gods and Little Fishes, when I highlighted this from a Web site and

pasted it into my post, it had none of these wikipedia references; however it

did

have links, my bad, sorry. The simple answer is epi's stimulate the heart and

raise the heart rate.
