An out of county ambulance and passenger pickup truck collided at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning resulting in one fatality and two critically injured patients. Medic 9 and Med-Rescue 26 each transported one patient to Brackenridge Hospital. EMS Command onscene confirms one paramedic from the ambulance is DOS and the driver of the second vehicle has critical injuries. Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Share Posted October 10, 2006 KXAN. 1 Paramedic Killed, 1 Injured In Ambulance Crash Oct 10, 2006 06:56 AM CDT In Southwest County, emergency crews report that a Marble Falls ambulance has had an accident with another vehicle in the 18000 block of Highway 71, just west of Bee Creek Road. A medic in that ambulance is dead at the scene. Another medic, as well as the driver of the second vehicle involved in the wreck, are in critical condition. Right now, the westbound lanes of Highway 71 are closed, and one eastbound lane is open. KXAN has a crew on the way.
