Charlie,

my nutritionist, who I think is incredible and has been so much help to me

told me IF I understood her correctly, that an adult woman should have 1200

cal a day. to loose 1 lb a week drop down to 1100. To loose 2 lb a week

drop down to 1000. To loose 3 lbs a week drop down to 900 BUT she is

adamantly against my going to 900 cal/wk as being too fast to loose the

weight.

On the other hand FOR ME, I am developing an eating program based on carbs

and diabetic needs. That left me not eating candy, cookies, junk foods etc

and since I wasn't eating what I didn't need, my body just started dropping

the weight. I went from 200 lbs to 175 in about 2.5 months without

'dieting' or exercising. I just stopped eating the foods I didn't need.

Then I plataued out at 175 for 2 weeks and went bonkers. But then I started

loosing weight again and in the past 2 or so weeks I'm down to 170 this

morning. Now I am watching what I am eating calorie-wise on a daily basis

but I am not forcing myself to stick to 900. 1000-1100 is ok too. I am

still loosing weight and that is the goal, not how much how fast. If you

loose it too fast you are liable to hurt your mucles tissues.

Now, I am also in a wheel chair (w/c) a good part of my day. I use a

Service Dog and crutches to walk, but can only do short walks, not long ones

hence the w/c.

I went on line and google searched sit down aerobic video tapes. The one I

got is Jodi Stolove's Chair Dancing Through the Decades from Collage video.

It is on line so you can google search that if you want. It is a tape that

shows three different levels of activity so you can slide into it at your

own pace. It wasn't too expensive either. I did notice when I do it about

1 hr after eating a high carb meal for me, that my BS# goes down.

Interesting. I am up to the educational level of adding exercise and fiber

to my daily routine. What fun :-(.....

hoped something I wrote helped

JUDITH

I can't find anything on how many calories I should have each day .I

found the food pyramid , but that don't help me and to read the leables .

for example on the top the cholesterol norman say's abaut 30 , but go to the

bottom if the chart and the cholesterol will say 300 mg .

I'm new at this and I take a lot of medicense . And all you all take is

loseing weight , which is good .But how many calories should I have a day

and how meny are there in one slice of dark bread ??

And most of all were is the best place to buy the test strips and all

the thing you need to test your self each day.

I live on SSI disablities and I just aford all of these extra expences .

And you say exersiser , how you spose to do it in a wheel-chair ??

Before I found that I had diebetes 2 , I've been sick with my CODP and

still haveing problem breathing and I was weight was 284 lbs ,and in two

weeks I went down to260 lbs and I'm 6'4 " . But just start feel like livening

again.

Your truly Charlie
