Guest guest
Headache better today. Have cut down aspirin to 75mg. Pain in my groin is much worse. It has always ached since the ablation 10 days ago and there is a pea sized lump, but today I keep getting a really sharp pain in it that takes my breath away. Anyone else had this? I am not sitting dwelling on it as I have been really busy today and have lots of other things to think about, although I admit I am anxious. Someone mentioned ruptured aneurysm to me that hasn't really helped! ] Sorry to be so pathetic! Thanks --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
, I had a walnut size lump in my groin. It sounds like you are running around getting ready for your guests and not taking it easy. I have been off of work for 4 weeks and taking it easy to let my body heal. You need to listen to your body. Mine felt like a bad muscle pull and once I got it thru my head-I settled down and quit pushing myself so hard and it got better. If it isn't swollen and red it is most likely okay. I had myself talked into an esophageal fistual for a couple of days!! Take care, Peggy Ann airhairlair_uk@...> wrote: Headache better today. Guest guest
From reading your posts it seems to me that you have not made allowances for having the procedure and recovering from it. You MUST make time for yourself to heal. Whatever busy stuff you have to do, it's not as important as your health is it? If you make yourself ill by not giving yourself time to r&r you will not be able to do any of it anyway! Spare some time for yourself! Relax, lay on the couch, read, watch TV. Whatever you like doing. I could not believe you were cooking for people a week after you have had an ablation! Men can cook too. Sue > > Headache better today. Have cut down aspirin to 75mg. Guest guest
My lump got pretty big too, although not walnut sized.... I'm one month out from MY PVI tomorrow, and this past weekend, as I was up and down on ladders, my catheter site was again aching. I followed the rules about no heavy lifting for 10 days, and despite being 30 days, I'm still having my husband lift really heavy items for me. If the site still aches, even occassionally, it must not be fully healed, and no sense pushing things! I push them enough elsewhere. Guest guest
Steph, As I recall we both had ours on Feb 28th. I finally came back to work today and am not lifting anything real heavy. Still taking it easy. It may have been what they call non-invasive but it was still surgery and they were messing with our hearts. Have you had any a-fib? I haven't so far and that seems like a good sign even though I haven't pushed myself yet. It is nice to be able to just bend over to put the leash on my dogs and not go into a-fib. Once the fear goes away totally it will be like getting a new life. Peggy Quarter Acre Orchids quarteracreorchids@...> wrote: My lump got pretty big too, although not walnut sized.... Guest guest
Me Too!! As I've mentioned before, I had a burning deep in my chest since the procedure, and I found that every time I ate I had to clear my throat a bunch afterward... I was sure I was developing a fistula as well! Yesterday it dawned on me that I no longer had the burning, but I still have to clear my throat a bunch after eating. Now I'm thinking that perhaps my throat was just super irritated from the TEE.. that's the only thing I can think of at this late date. I think fistulas develop within the first few days, to just a couple weeks after the procedure! I think we're in the clear... phew! stef I had myself talked into an esophageal fistual for a couple of days!! Take care, Peggy Ann
Guest guest
Hi Peggy - Geeze..... if I had thought I could get away with a month I would have... I over estimated my recovery as well, and went back a week later, which was too soon! I was pooped by the end of every day, and it was until yesterday that my chest still " ached " deep down, and as mentioned in my previous post, my catheter site still aches a bit! Prior to my ablation I was on Rhythmol every 8 hours, because my own cardio didn't think the 12 hour slow release was as effective toward the end of the 12 hours. After the ablation I asked to be switched to the 12 hour version (mostly so I could go to bed early if I wanted) so I took the first 12 hour pill the night I got out of the hospital, and was in afib by 5am, which ended 2 hour later, and half hour after my next dose of Rhythmol. I then went into aflutter that very same day, about 4:30pm, and converted back to NSR about half hour after my next 12 hour dose... I switched back to the 8 hour dose the very next day, and had one less than 30 second run two days after that, and I MAY have had a PVC or PAC once or twice since, but that's it (KOW). My heart is feeling more solid than it has in a very long time.. not sure if thats they rhythmol to blame or the ablation. I guess the test will be during the weaning off period at the end of May. How about you? Are you still on medication and are you having any events? Stef Peggy Bunch pab4431@...> wrote: Steph, As I recall we both had ours on Feb 28th. Guest guest
Stef, I have not had any episodes since the ablation. I was on sotalol before but it wasn't very effective. Mostly just kept my rate down. After the procedure the doc put me on 25mg toporal xl once a day just to keep my heartrate down but didin't want to put me on anything else to see if the procedure is sucessful or if it is the drugs I am on warfarin and toporal and that is it. Had a couple of days with alot of ectopics but took some magnesium and it settled them down. So far so good.
