Guest guest Posted January 11, 2007 Report Share Posted January 11, 2007 hi happy birthday to amelie and any one els who has a bithday today yes caitlyn got took back in hospital today the whole gastric tube and the baloon came out today it was a surgical emergency butby abulance to get to hospital before the hole closed up but by the time we got her there it was to late the hole closed up and she needs the opp done agin bless her it could only happen to caitlynwe dont know how it came out when it is stiched in but never mind it did poor kellie was so stressed out she rang me at work but i could not get to see her so i phoned the hospital and they told me to ring 999 ambulance kell did not have her house phone on at home as she has just moved into her new house 1 week ago i will keep avery one informed on how things go love to every one rita kellie and [caitlyn charge]i me and kellie were so sad to here about cadie god bless her fammily Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Before we learned how to replace our daughter's G-tube, They gave us half a dozen that we placed all over the house and in diaper bags, etc. They are basically a long tube you put in the hole until you can get to the hospital and get the g-tube replaced. I second 's suggestion and urge your daughter to learn how to replace the g-tube. We had to learn in order to take it out each night to help prevent leakage by closing the hole a little each night. It was weird and daunting at first, but definitely worth it and has saved us a trip to the emergency room when the balloon popped. The mic-key that our daughter has is supposed to last 3-6 months, so they will definitely pop sooner or later and it is a lot easier to do at home. I hope Caitlyn does not have to be at the hospital too long.
