Sorry to bug y'all again...

I finally got someone in the CE department at National Registry. I

was told that PALS can only count towards your ADDITIONAL 24 hours of

CE, and not toward your mandatory 16 hours of Pedi/OB/GYN. She said

that the only courses that count toward this area are PEPP and PNC.

With that said, I have looked for classes in the DFW area or within

driving distance without any luck. Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thanks,

Sorry to be contradictory, but, Registry has said several times to me

and others that the card courses: ACLS, BTLS or PHTLS, and PALS or PEPP

or PPC will meet the needs of the 48 Section I hours. I think they need

to publish one or the other so we can eliminate this confusion.

The same is true with us. We have reaffirmed the same with NR numerous

times. ITLS, ACLS, & PEPP (or PALS, PHTLS, etc.) do meet the needs of

section I (or at least the vast majority of it). We have also sent them

an overview of the PEPP curriculum so that a comparison could be drawn

to PALS. They have had no problem in accepting hundreds of re-apps from

our staff over the years with our staff using these card courses in that

section. There should be no confusion about their accepting these card

courses for section I requirements.
