Guest guest
Firefighters Shot At For Not Helping Cat A man angry at firefighters who refused to rescue a cat from a tree was arrested after he started shooting at the fire crew, officials said. Cullen, 58, was charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Mohave County Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish said. A three-person fire crew went to Cullen's home Thursday when he reported a tree fire, but found no blaze, Hualapai Valley Fire Department spokeswoman Sandy said. Instead, Cullen told firefighters he wanted a cat rescued from his tree and knew they would only respond to a fire call, said. A battalion chief told Cullen to call animal control or wait for the cat to get hungry and come down. Cullen apparently didn't like the response, said. " He went back into the house, got a small black revolver and came outside shooting, " she said. The firefighters and a 12-year-old boy who had come to see the fire truck ran for their lives, said. No one was injured. Deputies arrested Cullen after a brief standoff and struggle.
Guest guest
We were called for a structure fire with a full arrest once. The party that we were called for was in full arrest and no CPR was in progress on the dog upon arrival. Yes I said dog. An english bull dog to be exact. We were then held hostage and instructed to do CPR. We did exactly as told. We had no choice but to " work " the dog until such time as PD arrived and arrested the assailants. It was a very interesting situation but we were able to successfully intubate the dog. Good Practice. HAHA The difference here was we were smart enough to do asses the situation and then perform, not with in our scope, exactly what we were asked until we had backup. Lesson here Never turn your back on a situation unless you are sure someone else has it. THen think twice before turning it. Guest guest
We had a woman call at least once a week to have us rescue her cat from a horrible death from starvation while trapped in a tree, The last time she called (this was quite a few years ago, mind you), I rescued her cat the old-fashioned way: It's amazing what a 2 1/2 line with a straight tip can do. The cat landed in her swimming pool, paddling for all it was worth. She stopped calling after that. I wonder why.? Barry McClung
