Guest guest
Dear All, I have been on sotalol for few years, and it is now becoming less effective. I have tried all the others without success, except for Dofitilide (Tykosin) which is not available in Israel where I live. I would like to try this medicine, and my idea is to start it somewhere in Europe (including possible initial hospitalization) and then bring it home. I can of course do it in the States, but Europe is closer. Any information and recommendations (EP's, places, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards Joe Y. p.s. If any member of the group live in Israel and can lead me to Dofitilide, that would be great. ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System. Guest guest
Instead of going to the states or europe for medication, have you considered either for an ablation istead? It sounds like you've done your duty with medication already. Dofitilide in Europe? Dear All, I have been on sotalol for few years, and it is now becoming less effective. Guest guest
I have had one extensive ablation. It failed. I will most likely go for a second one. But with the waiting time long at most reputable centers, there may be many months ahead, and I am getting the AF episodes twice and often three times a week. Joe Dofitilide in Europe? Guest guest
Hi Joy Y, Is there ablations available in Israel?? If not Europe may be the ideal situation for you. Guest guest
>Joe, Hmm, wonder why it is not available in Israel or the UK? Do they know something we don't know or do they take longer to approve some meds? Like you I have been on Sotalol for years and it stopped working for me and have exhausted most other meds, I go into the hospital on Tuesday and start my Tikosyn therapy. Hope it is the miracle drug I need (try not to get my hopes too high) but fear an abaltion is in my future this year. Good luck in your quest and I can understand why you want to try Tikosyn before having to have an abaltion, me too. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply. I shall be contacting Pfizer, the manufacturer, to try and get an answer to your question. In the meantime, lots of luck to you with Tikosyn. I would appreciate if you keep us posted on what it does to you. Best wishes. Joe Y.
